CRISTINA QUINONES
uerto Rican-Mexican American born Cristina Quinones has
proven in the past 10 years to be instrumental in allowing
her to musically express her roots in both the Hispanic and
American Cultures. The Global music movement is far more
Pthan a trend. Cristina’s presence reflects the atmosphere
and attitude of the modern American. Where minorities and people of
mixed heritage are present everywhere across the country. At the early
age of 4, Cristina began taking music and piano lessons. Not knowing
that when at the age of 12 she entered into a recording studio for the
first time and made her first single. She respectfully recorded 5 more
new songs in Spanish and English to honor her roots.
In between it all, Cristina Quinones has performed over 1000 shows,
received 4 music awards, and performed 11 National Anthems. NASCAR
(which was televised live) being her largest audience of 35,000 which
included Canada and Mexico. Not to mention, Cristina's special invite
to perform for the Miss US Latina Pageant in Punta Cana, Dominican
Republic.
Georgia Music Hall of Fame
CQ: Being the first Latina to have ever received “The Horizon Award”
from the Georgia Music Hall of Fame was an honor and a privilege to
be among so many musical Legends. This award is given to an “up and
coming” performing artists with significant ties to the State of Georgia.
The following year Pop Singer Justin Bieber received the same exact
award as I.
China Tour
CQ: Oh my Goodness!! I am so super excited for my first ever real major
tour of 45 days in China!!! Wow!! I will be traveling to different parts of
their cities. I will be able to site see during the day and work at night.
How cool is that!
Goals
CQ: I would have to say win a Grammy or two, perform at Madison
Square Garden, International Tour, and perform at the White House.
Most importantly become an Ambassador for Eating Disorder.
Advice
CQ: First put your trust in God, Love & Respect your parents and Family.
Please stay in school and get your education, because it’s your future.
Even if you want to get into the Music or any career for that matter
education is important. Lastly, don’t give up on your dreams and don’t
let anyone tell you otherwise. Also be sure it’s what you want. Love what
you do and do it for you.
Final Thoughts
CQ: All of this would not have been made possible without God al-
mighty, the support from my family, friends and fans. But best of all the
entire Latin Community in Atlanta and across the country. So I am so
very grateful to LOOK Magazine for being my very first Latin Magazine.
What a true honor and privilege to be viewed all the way from Colom-
bia South America. "I want to be able to make an example for Latinos
and pray to make a difference in the world".
